Fall in Saugerties and Visits to the Catskills Animal Sanctuary

Image
Animal Sanctuaries are very important for the animals, for education and the environment. It is crucial to support Animal sanctuary in any way we can. I am lucky to have a few amazing Animal Sanctuaries nearby; I became a huge fan of the Catskills Animal Sanctuary in 2015. I am always impressed how much they teach about animal rescue, animal care, but mostly who teach me the most when I visit,  are the animals at the sanctuary who are lovely! The Animals at this Catskills Animal Sanctuary are ambassadors for all animals and teach us that they have the need for a family, friendship and want to live just like all of us. It is unthinkable that humanity got into a level of greedy where most can no longer see what is an animal, and how much evil is the violence committed towards them in order to have them in your plates.  I like to believe we are better than that and we can one day wake up and understand that animals are not food and that we have all the nutrients needed for a healt

Frames of Love at the Catskills Animal Sanctuary - Gobble & Groove 2017

Image
Once again I had an amazing time at my favorite place to be the Catskills Animal Sanctuary last Saturday at the annual event Gobbles & Grove. This event offers a variety of activities for adults and kids such as live music, animals tours. cooking classes, Drawing, several vendors, plenty of tasty vegan food, speech by the founder Kathy Stevens and for last feeding the turkeys with the sound of lovely music.  They also had a lot of pumpkins donated to feed the pigs and it is so adorable to see how much they enjoy. I was amazed by how well organized it was and mostly with the positive energy from everyone, especially from the animals, but that is expected since animals are all about pure love and should be protected.  Since I am a regular; I went straight to the point, which was found Tucker, a 10-year-old beautiful Cow, rescued by Catskills Animal Sanctuary from the dairy industry. Tucker stole my heart in 2015 with his sweet personality  Tucker is probably the biggest co

Easy home made vegan meals high in protein, low budget , easy and tasty

As many people realized the right thing for the animals, our health and the environment is to go vegan . some people may don't know how to start.  But let me tell you, it is easier then you may imagine, and there is nothing crazy about it. Per instance many of the things you already enjoy are vegan; just stick with the things you like that is already vegan, and switch animal products to healthier cruelty-free options. Here are a few examples of what I usually eat during the day with about 100 g of protein daily if not even more. I usually do not have a lot of time to cook or to make complicate things so I stick with the easy, healthy fas, tasty and simple. After reading the "China Study", which is a complete book on plant-based nutrition. I realized how important other nutrients are such as fiber and antioxidants , nutrients in which animals products cant offer to people and may be the cause of so many disease related to chocking our arteries; perhaps it may be the rea

Why is better to be awake then to be in denial

"> I saw this video on the Facebook Page of the amazing animal activist James Aspey , and as I was watching my heart stopped beating and tears felt down.  Although I have been vegan consciousness vegan for quite sometimes when the rash reality hits me it hurts deeply.  When I was only a vegetarian, My choice was to ignore, and to be disconnected , since just to know that we are capable to comment such cruelty towards lovely being used and will always break my heart into pieces .  These days, after being vegan for years , I realized that the change starts with us and is better to face the truth and try to change something that hurts us stead to ignore just so we don't feel upset and pretend we live in a perfect world .  I had decided that I could no longer be in silent; to be in silent would not help , therefore I share this. It is unreal the level of animal cruelty that these animals go through mostly just for tasty and food, when we now know we do not need t

Why wool is pure animal cruelty

Erin Janus has been doing amazing educational videos on animal cruelty and I highly recommend you to subscribe to her youtube channel and follow her on twitter as well.  Thanks to her video and others videos creators,  I am allowed to share this important information in which explain how wool leads to horrific animal cruelty. It is extremely difficult to face the truth and most ignore and live in denial.  I lost air and broke down in tears by watching this, but I choose to be awake then be in denial and boycott wool.  I invite you to join me to find cruelty free alternatives for the cold season. These animals are lovely and have the need for family and friendship like all of us. I had the incredible opportunity to hang with a few of them at the Catskills Animal Sanctuary in NY. who are rescued and now live a great life thanks to volunteering and donations.  I  felt betrayed once again by industries by not knowing how cruel wool is.  Here is one of one of my photos of a

The parallel of my journey as a Vegan with the chicken Jaildbird from the Catskills Animal Sanctuary

I had decided to share with everyone who approach this blog a long personal experience with an important message . I dedicated this post to the lovely Jailbird and volunteers of the Catskills Animal Sanctuary . Last June, I once again had an incredible experience by interacting with the animals at my safe place ; the Catskills Animal Sanctuary located in Saugerties  NY . As we walk though the Catskills , we are are often  approached by the friendliest and cutest  animals , in which I always feel fascinated by each one of them in a way that I find difficult  to put into words. I have visited the Catskills Animal Sanctuary a few times, and felt in love with all of the animals , and in each one of them reinforce my beliefs that we are all the same and deserves to live. As I was walking thought the Sanctuary early morning last June with a friend, we first approached a lovely sheep , then the lovely cow named Amos , and  as we kept walking I noticed  this beautiful chicken near
